The Monstera White Monster is one of the rarest and most striking variegated Monsteras available to collectors. Known for its extreme white variegation, this plant produces dramatic leaves marbled, sectoral or sometimes almost completely white, creating a bold, high-contrast statement unlike any standard Monstera.

Highly sought after and released only in very limited numbers, White Monster is prized for its unpredictable growth and jaw-dropping foliage. Each leaf is unique — from crisp white panels to splashed and marbled patterns — making this a true centrepiece for advanced collectors.

Due to its high level of variegation, this plant is slow-growing and requires attentive care, but the reward is one of the most visually impressive Monsteras you can own.

Care Guide

🌿 Light

Bright indirect light is absolutely essential.

  • Place in the brightest spot possible without direct sun

  • Avoid harsh sunlight, which can scorch white areas quickly

  • Insufficient light may cause weak growth or leaf loss

A grow light is strongly recommended, especially during UK autumn and winter.

💧 Water

Water when the top 2–4 cm of soil has dried.

  • Keep soil lightly moist, never waterlogged

  • Ensure excellent drainage at all times

  • Overwatering increases the risk of root rot, especially with slower-growing plants

Always err on the side of slightly underwatering rather than overwatering.

🌡 Temperature & Humidity

  • Ideal temperature: 18–26°C

  • Absolute minimum: 15°C

  • Thrives in high humidity (65–75%+)

High humidity is crucial to prevent browning and crisping on white sections. A humidifier is highly recommended.

🪴 Soil & Potting

A very free-draining aroid mix is essential.
Recommended mix:

  • Orchid bark for airflow

  • Perlite or pumice for drainage

  • Coco coir or peat for moisture balance

  • Small amount of compost or worm castings

Repot only when necessary — White Monster prefers stable conditions.

🌱 Feeding

Feed monthly during spring and summer using a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength.

  • Avoid high nitrogen feeds

  • Do not fertilise in winter

Optional calcium-magnesium supplementation can help support leaf health.

🌿 Growth & Support

  • Growth rate: slow

  • Leaves may be smaller and less frequent due to heavy variegation

  • A moss pole or support helps encourage stronger, more stable growth

Rotate regularly for even light exposure.

✂️ Pruning & Variegation Management

  • Remove damaged or failing leaves promptly

  • Fully white leaves may struggle long-term — this is normal

  • Variegation is unstable and naturally unpredictable

Clean tools are essential when pruning.

⚠️ Toxicity

Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats, dogs and children.

Why this plant is special

  • Extremely rare high-white variegation

  • One of the most dramatic Monstera forms available

  • Each leaf is completely unique

  • True collector and investment plant

A show-stopping Monstera for serious collectors — opportunities to own a White Monster are exceptionally rare.

An exceptional five stars out of five
Few qualities separate inordinately successful entrepreneurs from the rest of the pack than the ability to innovate. Many have debated whether individuals are born with this quality or whether it can be nurtured. In The Innovator's DNA, Jeff Dyer, Hal Gregersen and Clayton Christensen explain that while genetics play a role, innovation is most certainly a skill that can be learned. In particular, the authors introduce and expound upon five "discovery skills" found in the leaders of some of the most innovative companies in the world: (1) associating, (2) questioning, (3) observing, (4) networking and (5) experimenting. Each discovery skill is accompanied by real-world examples and pragmatic exercises that make the book unusually valuable in an age where copious books on change, leadership and innovation overwhelm the already-overwhelmed executive. I give The Innovator's DNA an exceptional five stars out of five. The authors present a very readable book and provide concrete exercises for developing innovative skills. Using the principles provided in the book, I created a folder on my computer that I call my "Innovation Room." I use this to track progress as I work through various exercises and as I take time to ponder about how to apply innovative solutions to extant problems in Utah. This book was and will continue to be useful to me, and is recommended as a must-read for those interested in adding rare innovative attributes to their arsenal of problem-solving and decision-making skills. *NOTE: The preceding text is taken verbatim from my short book review printed in the June 2012 edition of Utah Business.

It's Ok
It's an ok book and it definitely has some interesting things going on it, but it also has those "ask yourself" these questions if you can be an innovator which is where every human being ponders and talks themselves into having the type of characterisitic the question asks if they have and that makes that human being feel the best about themselves. Bottom line the book has some good info, is it better than say reading the biography of each innovator that they cover (if one is available)....I can't say that it is.
